Berlaku siang tadi.

Banjir kilat landa KL, berpuluh kenderaan dinaiki air

KUALA LUMPUR: Hujan lebat kira-kira sejam menyebabkan beberapa lokasi di sekitar ibu negara dilanda banjir kilat termasuk berpuluh kenderaan ditenggelami air.

Kawasan meletak kenderaan di Baruk Borneo Club, Jalan Kia Peng, Kampung Baru, Jalan Ampang, jejambat LRT Chan Sow Lin, jambatan hadapan Balai Trafik Kuala Lumpur menghala Jalan Syed Putra dan Jalan Tun Ismail serta Gombak Utara berhampiran Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM) turut mengalami banjir kilat hingga air mencecah kira-kira satu meter.

Berikutan banjir kilat itu, hampir kebanyakan laluan utama di ibu negara mengalami kesesakan teruk. - BH

  1. This is only a suggestion. I was in Acheh end of last year and was surprised to see the cleanliness of Bandar Acheh. More so with the way they handle the rivers in town as well as surrounding area. What I saw was intriguing as they have an excavator along the banks of the river where it will moves along the banks to extracts the rubbish as well as deepens the river as the excavator moves along. By doing this the flow has no interruptions and it was smooth. I asked the people how long has this been going on, the answer was, since this method was done they don't have anymore floods in the city. why can't DBKL adopt such clean-up??? the equipment used is not the huge unit but the smaller size. DBKL can have this 4-5 units working on a daily basis to deepen as well to remove mounting silts and sand so that the flow is not interrupted. my 2 cents opinion
